About ODIRUCE
Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities (ODIRUCE) has been operating in Uganda since 2013. The organization’s work is guided by the National Development Plan and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Crusade for Environmental Conservation and Development Initiative works with key stakeholders that include children, civil society organizations, communities, donors, the Government, and the media in contributing to the realization of sustainable development
Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities strives to create impact in communities by delivering program through partnerships, by being innovative, by acting as the voice for and of marginalized, and by achieving results at scale. We implement programs in both development and humanitarian contexts.
Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities is to advocate for the preservation of opportunities and rights of all persons, animals, and other environmental species. Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities develops and implements programs that target the most vulnerable amongst populations that have suffered from conflict, natural disaster, or socio-economic hardship. Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities’s approach looks beyond the immediate emergency towards opportunities for longer term livelihoods reconstruction and sustainable development
Our mandate
Independent, private, and non-profit, Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities respects a strict political and religious impartiality, and operates following principles of non-discrimination, transparency, according to its vision, mission, goal and core values.
Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities is committed to sustainable development through supporting those in urgent need and protect people’s dignity, while co-creating longer term opportunities for sustainable growth and fulfilling people’s potential.
Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities endeavors to respond to humanitarian crises and build resilience; promote inclusive and sustainable growth; co-construct effective governance and support the building of civil society by investing in people and their potential.
The vision of this Organization is to have a well-coordinated Organization that recognizes and respects the rights of everybody and facilitate preservation of environmental and human rights.
The organization’s mission statement is to advocate for the preservation of opportunities and rights of all persons, animals, and other environmental species.
To contribute to the reduction in marginalisation, enhance long-term and sustainable development of communities in pastoral areas in Uganda through building their assets, economic opportunities, and resilience, strengthening social accountability mechanisms and increase state responsiveness favourable pastoralist national policies.
Our core values
The commitment of Organization for Development of Integrated Rural-Urban Community Entities and that if our teams is guided by six (6) core values: -
1. Equity and Fairness: All people have a right to the benefits of our environment and natural resources. In line with this, the generation and distribution of resource benefits should be done in a manner that optimizes the values and benefits of social, economic, environmental, and natural resources dividends as well as recognizes equity and fairness for current and future generations.
2. Sustainable use: We believe in utilizing social, economic, environmental, and natural resources dividends sustainably, so they continue to function and offer services effectively for current and future generations.
3. Collaboration: We recognize the enormity of the task of building sustainable systems of managing social, economic, environmental, and natural resources. In playing our role, we will actively work closely in partnership with local communities, civil society organizations, private organizations, and the government to effectively discharge our mandate.
4. Professionalism: We are committed to our Vision and Mission. We will undertake our mandate with diligence and in line with nationally and internationally recognized ethical and professional standards.
5. Flexibility: We operate in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability in the use of our strategies and tools as the context demands.
6. Impact: We are committed to having the most sustainable impact for the communities and the people with whom we engage. All our actions aim to have an impact which improves the living conditions of the people, contributing to reaching the dignity every human being is entitled to.
